Silver Nitrate starts as a colorless white crystal powder which melts at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. The silver nitrate becomes a part of our two-fold patina process. The silver nitrate is applied to the piece first and at a much higher temperature than our standard patina. Then, a colored pigment patina is applied all over the silver.
