Circus Girl:
Over the years I have 'adopted' numerous elephants that were orphaned in Africa and through letters and photos I have watched them grow up, be teenagers, and then finally decide they want to be in the wild. Yet most of them come back to say hello to their human family that cared for them when they were young. I wanted to show a young circus girl comfortable, completely at home, with her animal family of an elephant and monkey. It is not a question of her taming them, they have chosen to be with her.
