The challenge in executing this piece was to have all the animals positioned in such a way that created small vignettes within the frame but also not detract from the sense of the overall scene. It is my contention that bears do indeed love the water. And like most animals, when they are not hunting for food like to spend their time in idleness. On the other hand as modern humans we uniquely tend to spend all our time being busy working and striving to do sports or hobbies. It occurs to me that there is a lot to be said for idleness.
