A Word from Michael: Dhyana is a 5,000 year old Sanskrit word meaning 'perfect contemplation,' worship, and sometimes meditation. It is a noun, not a verb. In other words, it is a state of being not an action. Actually it is a state that precedes Samadhi, or, enlightenment. It is also the root of the word in Japanese 'Zen' after travelling to China (and called Chan) and then on to Japan to form into 'Zen.' Interestingly enough, it is also a word that travelled west and gave the Greeks, Diane/Dianne. Diane, among other things means Divine, Goddess of Light.
